Potter Charged in Fatal Accident

Police releasing the name of the man involved in a traffic accident on Monday that killed Baxter Springs resident John Scofield. 24-year old Daniel Potter of Joplin is being charged with involuntary manslaughter after the car he and Scofield were riding ran over a ditch, traveled though the air, ejecting Scofield, before pinning him beneath. Police say Potter's blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit in Missouri. His bond was set at $5-thousand dollars. No court date has been set.
