Going to the Polls? Take Your ID

The House has given initial approval to a constitutional amendment allowing a state law to require Missourians to show a photo ID at the polls.

The amendment wouldn't require voters to show an ID, but it clears the way for a law doing that.

The Missouri Supreme Court tossed out a 2006 law that required voters to show government-issued photo identification.

After a partisan debate, the House passed this year's measure 89-67. It needs another vote to move to the Senate. The session ends May 16.

Republican supporters argue that requiring a photo ID for votes could safeguard the state's elections.

But Democrats complain it's an attempt to disenfranchise people who don't vote for Republicans.

Would you buy a SmartCar to save money on gas?
You bet! I heard that little car just got top marks in crash tests.
No way! I don't want to drive a car that looks like it's going to get beat up.
I don't know.... where do I put the wife and kids?
