Emma France will no longer be a ward of the county.  The 95-year old Carthage woman says she was made a ward of Jasper County public administrator Rita Hunter, but her family wasn't informed of the change and she wasn't allowed to attend the hearing.  

Judge David Mouton decided to rescind orders making France a ward of the state.  He said he made the decision based on the attorney's arguments, without needing to hear from France or her daughter, Delores Forste

 Forste was charged with kidnapping after taking her mother to live with her in California last year.  She has filed suit in federal court against Hunter seeking damages.
