Embezzler Pleads Guilty

A former southeast Kansas banker has pleaded guilty to federal charges of embezzling. U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren says Martha Thompson admitted making what she said were loans to herself from the Citizens Bank of Weir, in Cherokee County. Melgren says the money was used to pay gambling debts at casinos.
