The Kansas Board of Regents is asking all higher education institutions in the state of Kansas to cut 7-percent in the next two years.
KZRG News talked with University Spokesman Ron Womble. Womble says Pitt State says the intital budget cut shouldn't affect students, but the following year will be more difficult to absorb.
"We've not been given specifics from the region about what they expect to see. They've not set limits on how much tuition might increase or they've not said you may or may not cut in certain areas. They've just asked us to plan for it and let them know what that picture would look like."
All together they're looking at cutting 2.7 million dollars.
